What is Liver & How it Works

Liver is placed at the right side of the human body.Liver the the second largest organ of the human body, it weights around 1.50 Kg to 3.00 Kg. The liver is divided into two equal lobe, large right lobe and smaller left lobe. It has two main blood vessels, Portal Vein and Hepatic Artery, these vessels continuous bring the blood into the liver to perform various functions. Liver plays very important role in our life, it help to breakdown the food we consume and digestion. Also it help to detoxifying the materiel, poisons which is harmful to the body.
















Lever provides energy to produce substances, and transport vitamins to the body such as Iron,copper and vitamin B-12.The most important function of the liver is to produce bile.Bile is sort of juice which has two functions to perform, cleanse the nasty toxin from the body and digestion of the food.

 Liver Functions 


  • Liver converts ammonia into less toxic urea, Ammonia is the toxic produced during the digestion of the protein.
  • Liver break down the glycogen into glucose during exercise, it goes thru our blood stream which is used by the muscles as a source of the energy.
  • Liver controls the production of cholesterol and excretion into human body.
  • It performs various function throughout the body, Storing iron, Hormonal Balance producing immune factor, regulating blood clotting and producing bile.
  • Liver stops bleeding, it creates protein which helps to clog the blood. 
  • Liver is like a fuel station of the body, main job is to maintain blood sugar level.
  • Liver is refereed as a gatekeeper and housekeeper of the body.
